Acid and base has lots of differences. Acid is a chemical substance that in aqueous solutions are characterized by a sour taste. It has the ability to turn the litmus paper from blue to red. It has also the ability to react with metals like calcium to form salts. Base on the other hand is characterized by a bitter taste and is slippery to the touch in aqueous solutions. Bases have the ability to turn a red litmus paper into blue. Bases can also react with acids to form salts.
