The diagram below represents the cell cycle. When cells leave the cell cycle, they exit during G1 phase and enter G0 phase, a resting period. Normal cells can leave G0 phase and reenter the cell cycle at the G1 phase before entering S phase.     The cancer cells differ from the normal cells in the body because cancel is unchecked cell growth. The mutations in the genes can cause cancer through increasing cell division rate or inhibiting the normal controls of the body’s system like cell cycle arrest.
