Chloramphenicol did NOT inhibit translation in E. coli cells containing the cat6xbs expression plasmid. What experimental parameter could be changed in order to affect translation inhibition?

    Answer: The cells are resistant to chloramphenicol, thus a different antibiotic should be tried.

    Explanation:

    If a bacteria has antibiotic resistant gene inside it then it has the will not inhibit translation in the bacteria.

    Here, the chorampheicol did not inhibit translation in E. coli so in this case another antibiotic must be used in order to inhibit translation.
