What did the Lorax promise if you were to plant the truffula seeds?

The Lorax promised that if the truffula seeds were planted, then The Lorax and his friends would come back again. He also mentions that in addition to planting the seeds, you had to give it clean water and fresh air, grow a forest of the trees, and protect them from being chopped down as well.
