    The patient will transition to a partial loss of consciousness state, whereby they will be groggy, weak, and disoriented. The patient will not be able to respond clearly to questioning, and may not realize their surroundings. In addition, the patient will be extremely tired because of the large number of muscles used during the grand mal episode.
