The correct answer is - glacial features.

Even though nowadays we know South Africa to be a place where there's warm and semi-arid climate, with the far south being with more milder climate, there have been found evidence of glacial features.

Now this may seem very unlikely because of how the climate is today in this part of the world, but the position of the continent hasn't always been like it is now. In the past, the southern part of Africa was very close to the Antarctic circle, so it was close to the south pole. Because of that, the climate was much colder than what it is today, so the formation of the glaciers was an easy thing to occur. Those glaciers, with their movement and erosion, managed to shape part of the landscape, thus leaving traces behind, traces that are still visible in the present.
