What will happen to plant cells when placed in isotonic solution?

    Isotonic solutions have the same water potential as the cell sap of the plant cell. Thus, no concentration gradient exists. Therefore, water does not enter or leave the cell via osmosis. As such, the size of the plant cell remains the same.
