the shape of their chromosomes and plasmids

    Explanation:

Archaea and bacteria are the two groups of prokaryotes. These organisms lack all the membrane-bound organelles and well-defined nucleus in their cells. Archaeans resemble the bacteria as they both are prokaryotes. Both archaeans and prokaryotes have circular DNA molecules while eukaryotes mostly have linear DNA. Plasmids are the circular DNA molecules present in the bacterial cells in addition to their chromosomal DNA molecule. Plasmids are able to replicate themselves independently. Some archaeans also have circular plasmids.
