Can a mother with type A and a father with blood type O have a child who is type B?

    Explanation:

    This is because the possible genotypes for blood type A are Ai (i representing blood type O) or AA (the homozygous genotype), and the possible genotype for O is just one - - ii (which is homozygous recessive). If you were to cross these two genotypes, you would not be able to get a genotype that yields blood type B - - Bi or BB.
