    The answer is 2 cells.

Diploid cells (2n) of the dog have 72 chromosomes. In mitosis, the mother cell is divided into two identical daughter cells. Since mother cell is diploid, daughter cells will be diploid as well and will have 72 chromosomes. The number of daughter cells is independent on the number of chromosomes.
