    The carrying capacity of a species represents the maximum population of the species in an environment that provides all the favorable biotic and abiotic factors (resources and services) to live and sustain indefinitely.

    Carrying capacity depends upon the amount of ecological resource, population size, and resource consumed per individual of the population.

    When carrying capacity of a species exceeds, then the population will decrease; whereas if it is below, the population will increase.

    When the carrying capacity is at level, then the number of birth rate and death rate will stabilize and will be equal. This is because the resources required for the population is sufficient for the population to grow and survive in an ecosystem.
