Warm water is less dense than cold water and has lower salinity than cold water.

Explanation:

When the temperature of water increases the freedom movement of molecules increases and they expand. Hence the space between the molecules increases thereby causing the liquid to occupy more volume. Density is the ratio of mass and volume which means an increase in volume will decrease the density of a liquid.

Thus an increase in temperature has a negative impact on density and the density decreases. Salinity tends to increase with density. Thus temperature has a negative impact on salinity as well. When temperature increases salinity decreases.
