Why is one side of a single water molecule partially negative while the other side is partially positive?

    Electrons are not distributed or shared same because of oxyen that is being attracted strongly. Water is a "polar" atom, implying that there is an uneven sharing of electron in its thickness. Water has an incomplete negative charge () close to the oxygen molecule due the unshared sets of electrons, and fractional positive charges () close to the hydrogen particle
