Carpal tunnel syndrome is a collection of symptoms that can be caused by compression of the median nerve that travels the carpal tunnel.

Carpal tunnel is the compartment that located in the wrist, below the palm. It surrounded by bones so increased pressure cannot be directed anywhere else and will press the nearby tissue.

Repetitive motion can cause this condition because the motion of the tendon could stimulate the synovial tissue, make it thicken and increase the pressure.
