    The answer is smooth endoplasmatic reticulum. Smooth endoplasmic reticulum is involved in the production and metabolism of lipids and in the production of steroid hormones. Also, smooth endoplasmic reticulum converts organic chemicals to water-soluble products and that way detoxifies them.
