Modern classification was invented because Scientists understood that species share a common ancestor.

    Explanation:

Classification refers to the method of categorization of organisms in which the organism are categorized according to the similar characteristics and are further grouped into categories and can then be identified.

The traditional classification is usually based on the shared characteristic of an organism. whereas the Modern Classification is based on the evolutionary relationship that exist among the organism

The modern classification system has derived its root from the system that was developed by Swedish botanist Carolus Linnaeus. The modern classification system also holds similarity with the Linnaean classification system. which talks about the similarities in the physical traits of an organism.
