Amphotericin B is used to treat fungal infections that are chronic such as pulmonary histoplasmosis. A patient should used the said medicine for 1 to 2 weeks. The nurse should assess the patient taking Amphotericin B if he or she is not experiencing the side effects such as fever, hypotension, tachypnea, anemia, phlebitis, headache, joint pains and if his or her condition has improve. Another would be having over 75 ml per hour for 6 hours urine output. This just means the medicine is effective for his or her condition.
