Glycolysis does not consume oxygen at any step, whereas electron transport chain requires oxygen.

Explanation: Glycolysis is a process in which glucose is breakdown in smaller forms without consuming oxygen at any of it step and hece it is a anaerobic process. However, after glycolysis kreb's cycle and electron transport chain (ETC) starts only if the cell have oxygen and mitochondria, this is because after glycolysis every process (i. e kreb's cycleand ETC) is completed in mitochondria which requires oxygen and hence ETC is a aerobic process.

Result: Glycolysis in considered anaerobic and ETC as aerobic.
