    Australopithecus afarensis is hominin discovered in the Afar region in Ethiopia. He lived between 4 and 3 million years ago. The most famous fossil is named Lucy. Australopithecus africanus was dated as living between 3.3 and 2 million years ago. Homo habilis is much younger: 2.1 - 1.5 million years ago. Homo erectus is the youngest (from 1.9 million - 70,000 years ago). Answer: The specimen could belong to B) Australopithecus afarensis.
