Continuous process run 24 hours a day, seven days a week because there is usually a need to spread their huge fixed costs over the largest volume possible and also because price is often the most single important factor in competing with the company products. Continuous process is often used for the production of dimensional products. A company that operate continuous process usually keeps to production of just one product, variation in production is often little or non existent.
