In eukaryotic cells what happens in the g1 phase that differs from the g2 phase

    In the g1 phase, the time just after birth when the cell is preparing for DNA synthesis and grows. After this in g2 phase the cell goes through a transition or quality check where the integrity of the DNA is checked and prepares for mitosis.
