Semiconservative replication involves a template. what is the template?

    The template for semiconservative replication is the original DNA! It splits into two parts (antiparallel to each other) and the new DNA is made by a bunch of proteins. Namely, helicases, DNA Polymerases, topoisomerases, and some other proteins which are on the operon for greater affinity of DNA Polymerases.
