    Torque motor

    Explanation:

A special type of motor that is designed to operate even when the rotor is stalled is called a torque motor and it does not incur any damage while doing so. These motors have a toroidal construction and are induction motors. They have a wide diameter which allows them to have a higher torque and thus, this improves their thermal performance and this enables the motor to keep working even when it is stalled as it can draw high currents. Further, these motors are usually present without brushes or commutators due to which they can operate at higher speeds. A torque motor is most commonly found in tape recorders, computer games, throttle controls and actuators.
