Ribosomes are like translators. They translate the nucleotide sequence of a messenger RNA molecule into the amino acid sequence of a protein. The ribosome reads the nucleotides 3 at a time (known as a codon) like an edidtor, and assembles the correct amino acids together into a protein, ensuring that there is no mutations in the sequence.
