A coach has noticed that several of his athletes are not performing at their anticipated standard in the weight room for the past few weeks. He is unsure whether this is from lack of effort on the part of the athletes or if something else is going on. The athletes are about two weeks into on-field training and are currently at their heaviest for both volume and intensity in the weight room. What major issue could be developing, and what are some signs that the strength coach could be on the lookout for?

The coach should look at overtraining, fatigue and injury

    Explanation:

If a coach noticed that some athletes are not performing at their anticipated standards in the weight room for many weeks than the coach should check several issues that can affect the athlete's performance.

The coach should check that is due to high volume and intensity the athlete is feeling fatigue which does not allow them to perform better. He should ensure that overtraining is not given to athletes because it can cause injury and fatigue to the athletes. Therefore overtraining, fatigue and injuries are the major issues that should be checked by the coach.
