    Explanation:

    If a population has a high level of genetic variety, that will result in even grater genetic variations as the times goes on. With the increase in genetic variation in the population, gradually new species will start to emerge from it, thus speciation will occur. This will happen because the greater genetic variations will enable some of the population to be able to use some other food sources over time, and if that is advantageous than those individuals will start to slowly move in other direction, thus becoming a separate species.
