Describe the mathematical challenges of counting the "ticks" of a molecular clock.

Molecular clock is a process described to be a way of measuring time depending on the random changes or mutations in DNA of an organism. It is somehow mathematically challenging because we will be having a hard time to identify the certain changes and take note of the time elapsed.
