What is the task of the United States department of homeland security

The Department of Homeland Security is an American cabinet department that was established in 2002 by President George W. Bush. The objective of this ministry is to develop an integrated vision of national security in order to prevent attacks such as those of 11 September 2001 in the future.

The creation of this special department was a direct consequence of the attacks on New York and Washington of 11 September 2001, and of the Homeland Security Act of 2002.
