Why is nuclear fusion possible only in the cores of stars?

Hydrogen exists only at the cores of stars.

E = mc only works in the cores of stars.

High temperatures and pressures, which are required for fusion to occur, only occur in the core.

Hydrogen and helium nuclei require a lot of light to bond together.
