If specialized cells in the drink center become dehydrated, what happens next is that the pituitary gland will begin to release ADH. ADH, also referred to as arginine vasopressin, is a hormone that is created in the hypothalamus which is in the brain. It is stored in the pituitary gland and it lets your kidneys know how much water it should conserve and regulates the amount of water that is in the blood.
