    A. All known forms of life differ in their genetic makeup.

According to the theory of evolution, population of species have evolved into a better shape and form and with more adaptive characteristics over time. This change can only occur if there is genetic diversity in the population such that some members of the population with suitable characteristics will be favored over the rest and hence evolve into dominating members of the species.
