Fecal transplants are a relatively new procedure, where fecal matter is pushed directly into the digestive tracts via Nasoesophageal tube. While this may sound unsanitary, and actually very unsafe, it actually does have benefits, and the risks are minimized when considering how much the samples scrutinized.

The goal with this type of transplantation is actually mean't to push in something else, good digestive flora; or bacteria that is crucial for the digestive tract to function and keep it healthy. A lot of stuff in a hospital environment including especially antibiotics, kill bacteria that is causing illness, but also good bacteria in your gut. So it is better to think of this more as Probacterial Transplantation.
