    Weight is best described as:

    B. a measure of gravitational force on an object.

    Explanation:

The force with which an object is attracted by any celestial body is called the weight of the body. Since, Force = Mass * Acceleration

Weight = Mass * Acceleration due to Gravity (g)

The gravitational force exerted by a body greatly depends on the mass of the body. Greater the mass greater is the weight. Gravity of a body with Greater mass will be more therefore the weight of a body varies from place to place and on different celestial bodies. For example, The mass of the Earth is six times greater than the moon and thus a body moon weighs one-sixth of its weight on Earth.

Here the mass of the body is a constant quantity and thus the acceleration due to gravity differs.
