In what life process does hydrolysis occur

A catabolic reaction is one type of the two major metabolic reactions. Catabolic reactions is the breakdown of organic molecules for energy. It involves the process of breaking apart molecules into smaller molecules to release energy. Hydrolysis is the way in which this process is done. One life process that this occurs in is the digestion process when when sugars and fats are broken apart for energy.
