The greatest removal are Headward erosion is erosion at the origin of a stream channel, which causes the origin to move back away from the route of the stream flow, and so causes the stream channel to lengthen. It is the process by which a river erodes its source region, apparently lengthening its channel in a direction opposite to that of flow.
