    Chaparral is characterized as being very hot and dry. Fires and drought is very common in this biome. It also has different type of terrains like flat plains, mountain slopes and rocky hills.

    Plants found in Chaparral have small, hard leaves which hold moisture to compensate the lack of water in the area. Some of these plants are Yucca wiple, poison oak, scrub oak, others shrubs, trees, and cacti.
