Are atoms able to be divided by a chemical reaction?

    An individual atom can't be divided by a chemical reaction, only radioactive decay.

    Multiple atoms can be divided, but it requires reversible reactions, and the products formed from the backward reaction may be different compounds, so your atoms won't really be split as much as rearranged.

    Use whichever one of those you need
