I believe that the above statement is true

Human activities impact nearly all parts of the ocean. For example discarded nets continue to lethally snare fish, seabirds, and marine mammals as they drift. Ships spill oil and garbage and transport critters to alien habitats unprepared for their arrival. People living in coastal ares spill garbage and sewage into the ocean, fertilizer runoff from farms turns vast swaths of the ocean into dead zones. All these human activities are changing the properties of the ocean.

This is true. The oceans are warming due to climate change, which is causing the water to expand, leading to sea level rise. Changing ocean temperatures is also resulting in coral bleaching. The changing temperatures of the ocean may affect current and ocean upwelling, which will have detrimental effects on phytoplankton, thereby reducing the CO2 absorption capacity of the ocean. The ocean is also becoming gradually more acidic since the Industrial Revolution.
