    The answer is the cell has a great metabolic demand Mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell in most of the multicellular organism. So we can infer that having large amount of mitochondria means the cell requires more power than others. Muscle cells in humans are an example of cells requiring large amount of energy and thus having higher number of mitochondria

    The correct answer "the cells have a great metabolic demand." this is because mitochondria are organelles involved in the synthesis of energy in form of ATP. the process of energy production is referred to as respiration. during respiration living cells use organic molecules i. e glucose and oxygen to release final products carbon dioxide, water and ATP. the cells with high concentration of mitochondria have high demand of energy and they include brain cells, liver cells and muscle cells.
