What is a characteristic of cardiac muscle that is not true of skeletal muscle?

    Although they are both striated muscles, that is the biggest thing they have in common. The skeletal muscle is controlled by the somatic nervous system, while the cardiac muscle is not. In fact, it is involuntary, therefore without a control center. Another difference is where they are located in the body.
