    The scala vestibuli contain perilymph in which there is a domination of Na + ion which is K + in endolymph. endolymph has domination of K + because they have very large potential as compared to perilymph this is also called endocochlear potential. there is a potential difference of about 150 mV across the stereocillary membranes that drive cations through mechanotransduction channels
