Allen’s Rule refers to organisms in cold climates with round body form which has a smaller surface area to volume ratios. Larger bodies are more compact and retain heat.

Bergmann’s Rule refers to organisms in which body size is large in cold climates and small in warm climates. Large bodies have a smaller surface area to volume ratios. In warm climates where you need to expel heat, so bodies are smaller and more linear.
