Compare spermatogenesis and oogenesis as to timing of the processes, and the number and type of cells finally produced.

    Spermatogenesis:

    Spermatogenesis may be defined as the process of formation of sperm in the males. Spermatogenesis initiate at the time of puberty in males. This process is an un interrupted process. Four haploid sperms are produced from the single cell.

    Oogenesis:

    Oogenesis may be defined as the process of formation of ova in females. Oogenesis begins after 2-3 months at fetus stage. This process is occurs at the arrested stage. One haploid ova with 2 - 3 polar bodies are produced from the single cell.
