Nuclear fuel is used to create energy by heating water that creates steam that then turns turbine generators that produce electricity. This process is conducted in large facilities capable of accommodating the heat and steam that is created in such a process.

Fossil fuel which is coal, oil and gas power stations and nuclear (uranium) power stations all use the same processes to make electricity from heat energy. Fuel produces heat, that is then used to boil water to make steam. Steam spins a turbine. Then electricity is then formed.
