    Sensory neurons and motor neurons are only two of the basic types of neurons. The basic function of neurons are in transmitting nerve impulses to the different parts of our body. Sensory neurons carry signals from peripheral parts of our body into the central nervous system. On the other hand, m otor neurons carry impulses from the central nervous system to the peripheral parts of our body.
