A client with hypertension is scheduled for a scan and electrolyte studies. during an interview with the nurse, the client exclaims, "i don't know why i just can't get a prescription for high blood pressure pills; that probably is all it is. i'm missing work by being here." which is the best response by the nurse?

    The diagnostic procedure is important but sometimes the patient doesn't know it. In this case, you might want to say something to empathize with the patient first before explaining why the procedure is needed.
