Human activities are the main cause of many species extinction. These laws and treaties were created to maintain a healthy ecosystem.

However, There is not enough peer-reviewed data that determine if a species in trade can negatively impact the population. These laws lack essential guidelines; such as identifying the population is going to be affected. Is it within the country borders, or within a sub-population or the species’ rage? To make such laws, the following biological data should be determined; the sex and age, the current population size, distribution, abundance of each species to be exported and the threats to the survival of the population.
