    Explanation:

    In chemistry, electronegativity can be best described as the tendency for an atom in a substance to take a pair of electrons.

    As we go down in a group, the electronegativity decreases because the electron which has to accept the electron pair gets more and more distant from the nucleus and hence, has less attraction from the nucleus.

    In chlorine, as the electron which has to accept the electron pair is farther from the nucleus as compared to the atom of fluorine, hence it will have less electronegativity than bromine.
