A client with multiple myeloma asks how the disease and therapy progresses. what would be appropriate to include in the client's teaching?

    Multiple myeloma is essentially a blood cancer of the bone marrow, and certain white blood cells. Fortunately, it usually takes a slower course than most cancers. In fact, treatment may not be needed during part of the disease. The cells involved are those that make antibodies. Signs and symptoms are fairly non-specific, at first. Men, and African-Americans, are more prone to develeop multiple myeloma than other groups. It can eventually cause kidney failure.
