A man who carries an allele of an X-linked gene will pass it on to all his daughters. The father will pass it on his son on his Y chromosome and the mother will permit on one of her X chromosomes. If they were having a daughter, the father would permit on his X chromosome, and the mother will permit on one of her X chromosomes. X linked dominant inheritance is a method of genetic inheritance by which a dominant gene is passed on the X chromosome. An inheritance pattern, it is a lesser amount of common than the X linked recessive kind.
